CSF supports the MIT Ribotones
Ribotones is MIT’s volunteer Music Outreach program that performs at local hospitals and assisted living facilities, including Mass. General, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Home, Cambridge Homes, and Youville Assisted Living. The Community Service Fund provided a grant in 2019 to help with transportation costs and instrument rental fees to support the musicians in bringing music to patients, families, and health care workers.
In addition to musical outreach, the MIT Ribotones hold chamber music reading sessions, social events, and the occasional flash mob! Many of the musicians are also active members of the MIT Chamber Music Society, Emerson Program, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble.
