Our team

Community Giving at MIT is the Institute’s workplace giving program, and provides an opportunity for employees and retirees to make charitable donations to the MIT Community Service Fund (CSF) and/or to local eligible charities. The steering committee, composed of faculty and staff across campus and Lincoln Laboratory, guides the program on high-level topics such as communications, donor stewardship, and workplace giving trends. At the end of 2021, the committee officially launched the rebranded program which now focuses (almost) exclusively on raising participation and donations for the MIT Community Service Fund. The committee closely collaborates with the Office of Government and Community Relations and the MIT Community Service Fund to achieve greater support and local impact through CSF’s volunteer and nonprofit engagement.

The Community Giving at MIT Steering Committee is a Standing Institute Committee.

The Community Service Fund Board provides financial support to charitable organizations in which MIT student/employee/faculty volunteers participate. The board solicits contributions from all members of MIT and outside sources, and then reviews requests for help from projects utilizing MIT volunteers. The board consists of members throughout MIT representing faculty, students, and staff.
