In calendar year 2025, the Community Service Fund was proud to support a wide range of impactful initiatives that will directly benefit our surrounding communities. We awarded grants to 11 MIT-led projects, with funding levels ranging from $500 to more than $5,000 based on project scope and potential impact.

In addition, we provided financial support to 15 local nonprofit organizations with strong ties to MIT, many of which host our students and staff as volunteers and partners in service. We also funded stipends of $7,500 each for six social impact interns through the PKG Service Center, enabling them to dedicate their time and talents to meaningful community-focused work.

In total, $113,164 was awarded this year. Every application underwent a rigorous review by a Board composed of faculty, staff, and student members from across the Institute. Funding decisions were guided by the strength and thoughtfulness of each proposal and its anticipated impact on our surrounding communities.

Applications will open again in March and October. Local nonprofits can apply for funding in the spring cycle.
